Gilda Ingram Lamp Shades November 08th, 2018 - 06:18:24
Lampshade, that's a perfect accent for a table lamp. Here's how I did it. First, they ironed my fabric to remove any wrinkles. Then I applied the adhesive polystyrene in the kit to the reverse side of the fabric. This is the fun part. The polystyrene has an adhesive backing, which is exposed when you remove the release liner. It's super easy to apply the fabric to the adhesive polystyrene and get a smooth professional finish for your lampshade.
I trimmed the fabric to a half-inch around all sides of the polystyrene, except for one of the short sides, which is trimmed flush using the lampshade glue. In the kit glue and fold over the overhanging fabric on the other short side, this will create a neat seam on the finished shade, roll the fabric and polystyrene into a cylinder and secure with binder clips at the top and bottom insert one of the rings inside cylinder and rest it on the arms of the binder clip use the other binder clips to keep the ring flush with the top edge of the polystyrene.
Then grab your glue and apply it to the overhanging fabric, spreading it around with an old paintbrush or the nozzle of the glue bottle working in sections fold. The glue over the rings then use the included wooden, molding stick to gently push the fabric up and under the ring for a professional and neat rolled edge.
