Beverley Short Lamp Shades November 06th, 2018 - 02:36:20
The lampshade on its side on the paper down in a corner, and I like to start at the seam so that I can tell where I start and where I stop. And then you trace along the edge of the lampshade as you slowly roll it across the paper you're going to continue to do this until you get back to the starting scene, then you're going to take the lampshade and roll it back to its starting position and do the same procedure on the topic shape you so then you can just go ahead and square off the edges.
The thing you want to do is add about half an inch to each side of the pattern. This is so. You have enough fabric to wrap around the top and the bottom of the shade as a little hem. One inch should also be added to one of the short sides of the pattern that way we have enough for a hem and an overlap, and then you just want to connect your dots and you can just freehand them or you can cut along the dashed line.
Now we have the finished pattern that we cut out with scissors and we're laying it out on our fabric and looking at the fabric. We have a very set pattern it's very linear, and so while we could go straight across because the lampshade has a bit of a curve, it makes the pattern curved.
