Shawna Terry Lamp Shades November 09th, 2018 - 21:11:59
The lamp finial, sometimes known as the lamp topper. First of all, finials have a dual purpose. One is to hold your lampshade in place as it rests upon the harp or vertical rod of your lamp. When the finial is screwed on tightly your shade will stay firmly in place. The other purpose of a finial is to give your lamp and overall visual balance and offer an attractive finishing touch to your lamp, the taller, your lamb, the larger the finial.
I would suggest if your lamp is made of crystal or glass, I would recommend a crystal finial while a polished or antique brass finial is appropriate for a shiny or antique brass lamp. Of course, there are many other finials that are simply fun to use because of a personal interest, such as a musical note or to reflect the area of the country in which you live.
It also increases the sort of the elegance expect of the item and better the economy of the space around it. It has the look of a standard lamp shape from the front, so that's to say that it shows well in proportion. But if you've got something quite squat like this lamp here, if you put the oval on it because it hasn't got the overhang.
