Gilda Ingram Lamp Shades September 01st, 2018 - 02:28:47
Hang our lampshade. We go ahead and take our ribbon and measure it from one side to the next, with the size of the loop, the excess that we want to be hanging up, and once we have that size. We go ahead and we cut it and the way we're going to attach the ribbon is by making a hole in the lampshade. We bend it so that the two ends will give us a mark point. And then we take our sharp object and we make a hole and then they should be evenly lined up.
So once we have the hole we put the ribbon next to the hole and we again take our sharp object and put another hole now in between now. Through the ribbon and the plastic, where the hole was already made and we go ahead and take our our fasteners and put it through the ribbon and the plastic and then from the inside separate the fastener so that it holds it nice and tight in place and go ahead and do the same thing on the opposite side, we line the ribbon up where the hole was and again we take our sharp object and we poke it through and take your fastener and put it through both the ribbon and the plastic.
And once it's done, we see that we've left enough excess that it could be hung where the bulb will sit inside the plastic lampshade. In doing this project, I recommend a bulb of about 40 watts. I think the 40 Watts is enough and it gives off a lot of light, because the plastic is very clear, so the light will shine through and it takes away any any potential danger of using a light bulb that might get too hot.
So that's what I recommend about a 40 watt light bulb should be plenty for this type of project and also as a precaution. If the ribbon should not touch the light, it shouldn't be tied on to the light directly. It's advisable to put the ribbon to hang. It on something from the ceiling or something that's not directly touching the light, so these are just some precautions to use when using your lampshade.
