Enid Parks Lamp Shades September 11th, 2018 - 03:28:26
Cool beach lampshade. So if you want to see how I did that, then let's go outside and find out alright so step one. You want to take your lampshade off and you're sort of set it aside, because we don't need that yet then you want to start spray-painting and, as you can see, it was a little windy outside and that made things kind of difficult. So, if you're planning on doing this, try to aim for a day where it's not windy outside because it honestly just makes things so much harder like the paint goes everywhere, it was in my hair. It was all over the camera, it was just a big mess.
So definitely check the weather before you do this and, as you can see, I had already taped off the areas I didn't want paint on. That'S very important to make sure you do that before you start spraying because that will be bad. You know get on everything and you can't get it off to prepare for that. Then I put glue on the end of the rope there just to make sure that it went right and now I'm putting a line of glue just at the base, where I want to stick it down and stick it on there really good make sure you hold It for a few seconds, otherwise it'll just pop right off and what I did was after wrapping it around.
I put another line of glue on the second layer, as you can see here and hand movements cool, that's that's my lovely assistant, BAE and then just wrap. It around and don't worry about, putting a glue on until you get to the end, because if you grab it tight enough, it won't unravel you, you all right now back to our lampshade, as you can see there, I just took off the fabric that was on the outside of mine, if you have one that doesn't have that, then you don't have to worry about that step and all I'm going to do is paint that with acrylic paint you can use it ever kind of paint you have.
But this was just the easiest thing I found to do and I painted, I think four coats online, but depends on what color paint you use. How many coats of paint you'll need to just kind of feel it out once you start you'll be able to tell and now for the last step, all I'm doing is wrapping rope around the top and the bottom part of the lampshade, the little edge there and all I did was kind of eyeball measure it and then just cut a piece off and cut a piece there.
